British Land has launched Eats from the Street, a 'celebration of street food' that brings the best in British street food to four of our shopping parks. The new concept will run every weekend for the rest of the year.

The street food celebrations kicked off at Glasgow Fort Shopping Park and will also visit Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park in Edinburgh, Broughton Shopping Park in Chester and Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-on-Tees. A restored red route master bus will accompany the street food traders, and provides an unusual indoor setting for diners.

The new concept brings a fresh culinary experience to the park's customers and forms part of British Land's strategy to enhance the food and beverage provision across its portfolio.

British Land is pleased to team up with Richard Johnson, who set up British Street Food and the British Street Foods Awards, to champion the best of the young chefs now cooking on the streets.  Street food is an important trend in Britain and some of the most successful new restaurant openings over the last two years have started on the streets including Meat Liquor, Pizza Pilgrims, Patty and Bun and Pitt Cue.

Charles Maudsley, Head of Retail for British Land, said: "Eats from the Street is a great initiative that enhances the consumer experience at our shopping parks and makes good quality food fun and accessible. It is just one of the ways we are ensuring our shopping parks remain Places People Prefer."

Street food operators taking part in Eats from the Street include: British Street Food award winners, Nusou with bowls of noodles and fresh-ribboned vegetables; Scottish Food Award winners Breaking Bread, with a world food menu that includes everything from lamb kofta to falafel; Zoete Koek with Belgian waffles and pancakes; Mighty Mexican with tacos, nachos and burritos and Crema Caravan serving crème brulee.
