NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / March 28, 2018 / A selloff in the technology sector lead markets lower on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1.43 percent to close at 23,857.71, while the S&P 500 Index declined 1.73 percent to close at 2,612.62. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 2.93 percent to close at 7,008.81. A sharp decline in Facebook shares played a large part in the tech sector's decline. On Tuesday, Bank of America Merrill Lynch lowered the tech giant's price target for the second time in 5 days.

"We are seeing a rotation out of high-flying tech stocks, which was overdue, but it's not clear where the money is shifting to," said James Meyer, chief investment officer at Tower Bridge Advisors, according to MarketWatch.
