After the Team Brunel success in 2014-15 Bouwe Bekking is back at the helm. It will be the eighth time he will be at the start of the race of all races and Bekking is the most experienced Volvo Ocean Race skipper ever.

'The teams' goal is to bring acceleration to the new generation. We are successful when we optimally combine experience and talent. We win by creating opportunities for the new generation', according to Bouwe.

The focus of Team Brunel is technique and innovation. Students choosing technical studies and graduated engineers are important for our future.

By connecting technical experience and knowledge, organizations and people we create new challenges and future possibilities.

The aim of Brunel's campaign is to contact and recruit highly skilled technicians worldwide that can support projects all around the globe.

'Brunel will specifically assist the new generation technicians to have them take over the helm anywhere in the world after a short period of time', according to Jan Brand, founder of Brunel who personally interfered with participating in the 2017-18 race.

Team Brunel: 'Engineers Create Future' is an initiative of cooperating Dutch organizations and investors such as Jan Brand, Brunel, Abel Delft, ACE Ingenieurs- & adviesbureau, P2 Managers, Royal Huisman Shipyard B.V. and EY.
