NORTH BILLERICA, Mass., April 21, 2015- BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics and alternative energy manufacturing markets, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a 2015 SM T China Vision Award in the category of Management Software for its ENERGY PILOT software. The award was presented to the company during an April 21, 2015, ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center during NEPCON China. This marks the third award for the ENERGY PILOT software since its introduction.

"The response to our new Energy Pilot software has been tremendous," said Jim Griffin, vice president of sales and service for BTU. "We're committed to leveraging this platform for even more Cost of Ownership saving for our customers in the future."

ENERGY PILOT is a feature in the latest release of BTU's windows-based WINCON™ operating system that is designed to reduce the consumption of electrical power and process gas. Operation is fully automatic and results in an overall reduction in electrical, air and nitrogen consumption. The feature is easily upgradeable on older BTU reflow ovens.

The ENERGY PILOT software saves manufacturers money whenever the oven is idle. Standby mode can save over 25 percent. Sleep mode can be used for longer interruptions saving more than 40 percent. Long idle periods fully shut down the oven using hibernate mode. Recovery times are minimized using remote product sensors and SMEMA.

SM T China magazine launched the SM T China Vision Awards in 2007 to recognize both international and domestic providers of SMT equipment, materials, software and services that have made outstanding contributions to the rapid growth of China's electronics manufacturing industry by their inventions and innovations.
