Hoox, the secure smartphone: now available in 'as a service' mode

Expanded secure communications service now available on monthly subscription

Paris, September  30, 2014 -

Bull, an Atos Company, has announced that its HooX encrypted telephony offering is now available in fully hosted mode: giving organizations very rapid access to a secure communications service trust, and simplifying the management of installed bases of secure smartphones.

In this new configuration, the secure communications service is available as a monthly subscription providing direct access to all elements: smartphones, remote administration, application audits and an 'app store' for business applications. Hoox m2 smartphones are customized according to the customer's needs and the installed base is administered by Bull.

Within hours, an organization can create a secure space where employees handling sensitive data can communicate with each other. This speed is extremely useful when it come to equipping crisis cells, where the information is both confidential and time sensitive.

The Hoox offering has been further strengthened, with an option to enable total hosting of an organization's messaging in a secure space. Emails can be viewed on HooX m2 smartphones with reinforced security, while also being available as usual on PCs and standard smartphones. Email hosting is also available on a monthly subscription basis.

These developments greatly simplify access to secure services. They meet the emerging expectations of so-called h'Security as a Service' for simpler implementation, lower capital investment and day-to-day management of secure HooX m2 smartphone installed base, delegate to Bull.

This hosted approach preserves the confidentiality of exchanges: a key characteristic of the Hoox offering. Remote services are hosted in Bull's secure Data Center in France. The Hoox m2 has been approved for use with 'restricted' information by anssi, the french national Information Systems Security Agency.

"HooX m2 has been available since March 2014, and initial feedback from our French and international customers has helped us respond rapidly to changing operational needs," said Philippe Duluc, Vice President responsible for Bull's Security Division. "With the availability of HooX m2 and its ecosystem in 'as a service' mode, Bull is transforming secure telephony so it becomes a natural extension of its customers' security policies, ensuring they get all the benefits of simple integration and cost optimization."
