London (Mar. 31, 2015) - Bureau Veritas' Global Technical Manager for Marine Fuels, Charlotte Røjgaard, will chair a session focusing on the global fuels market at the Annual Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery Conference in London on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

The 2pm session on fuels will focus on:

■ The balance between high sulphur fuel in combination with scrubbers, versus low sulphur fuel in the light of the recent falls in global oil prices.

■ Specific low sulphur fuel issues, such as dealing with cat fines and the availability of low sulphur fuels.

■ Alternative fuels, with methanol, LNG and ethanol analysed.

■ Safety concerns over handling LNG bunkers - during delivery and on-board .

■ How scrubber technology has evolved and what are its economics now.

■ The impact of mixing various new 'ECA' fuels that are now appearing. What drives fuel stability and compatibility issues?
