Bureau Veritas has published for the first time a review of the activities that together make up its Commodities, Industry & Facilities (CIF) division.

The 2015-16 Commodities, Industry & Facilities Business Review explains how Bureau Veritas has helped clients reduce risk, improve safety and performance and preserve asset integrity across a number of key industrial sectors. It presents in-depth case studies from around the world, with highlights including:

- Provision of quality assurance and control for Shell's Prelude FLNG, the world's largest Floating Liquefied Natural Gas facility
- Shop and site inspections for the ZETES III power plant developed by Eren Energy in Turkey, which contributed to the plant opening ahead of schedule
- Failure prevention at a nuclear power plant in the United States, through use of routine Oil Condition Monitoring
- Third party verification for lines 1 and 2 of the Riyadh metro, the largest and most complex infrastructure project in the world
- Long-term partnerships with retail giants in China: certification of suppliers for online marketplace Alibaba; and control, audit and analysis support for Carrefour's portfolio of more than 230 Chinese hypermarkets
- Environmental management system certification across sites in four continents for Yamaha Motor, Japan

- A key focus of the report is how Bureau Veritas has developed its offer to better serve client needs, by reinforcing its offer in Food, Infrastructure and Chemicals, and by bringing its Commodities and Industry & Facilities divisions together.

Bruno Ferreyra, Executive Vice-President Industry & Services Lines explains:

'By launching new, client-focused businesses, and bringing existing services together under one roof, we aim to align our offer with clients and offer a one-stop shop for testing, inspection and certification services. This is an exciting time for Bureau Veritas' CIF division as we deploy our new structure to meet our clients' growing needs in quality, health, safety and environmental protection around the world.'

Bureau Veritas' CIF division is also reinforcing its client offer through increasingly digitalized services, explains Juliano Cardoso, Deputy President Commodities, Industry & Facilities division:

'At Bureau Veritas, we are using digital platforms to transform our organization and the services we offer. We firmly believe that digital innovation represents a major opportunity for clients to access and capitalize on the inherent value in testing, inspection and certification activities.'
