Eolas, Business & Decision Group subsidiary specialized in web marketing, online services development and hosting, announces the launch of its Linked Open Data LOD.Eolas platform during the MuseoMix 2013 event. Implementing digital projects in the public sector is now a strong Eolas expertise. The LOD.Eolas platform will help public authorities and organizations meet their need to publish open data on digital media.
The adoption of directives and regulations by numerous public authorities to make public data available in digital format has led to the creation of Open Data projects. The quality of open data - published by regional and local authorities, public bodies and public or private companies - varies on a star-based scale of 1 to 5, ranging from raw data provided in un-reusable formats to contextualized, enhanced, interlinked Semantic Data (Tim Berners-Lee). Quality level is what determines the data's possible uses: visual display, communication, mediation, reuse by third-party players for application development, etc.
Mindful of this and basing itself on collective intelligence and data reuse, Business & Decision Eolas set about turning what was a legal obligation into a true communication and transformation opportunity for public authorities. LOD.Eolas is thus a content distribution platform designed to meet the previously-mentioned "Five Stars" quality requirements.
The solution is available in Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) modes. With LOD.Eolas, Regional Councils and municipalities publish data catalogs that can be interlinked and enriched with data from other sources. The solution helps export data in multiple formats and provides Datavizualisation as well as Mapping modules. A dedicated offering helps pool various public authority groups' platforms.

LOD.Eolas was first introduced during Museo Mix 2013. Grenoble's Musée Dauphinois, a participant in the event, used the solution to provide MuseoMixers with an interactive catalog featuring its entire works. Internet users were thus presented with fact sheets for all objects, photographs, postcards and posters on display at the museum and on Isère's heritage buildings.
