Interakting helps Zadig & Voltaire publish its magazines on iPad 27/11/2013

The French ready-to-wear specialist Zadig & Voltaire adopts the MagPad platform - developed by Interakting, the web agency of the Consulting and Systems Integration Group, Business & Decision - to publish its interactive magazines on iPad. Through this application, Zadig & Voltaire hopes to develop its brand's presence on digital media and provide its customers with new ways to shop.

Zadig & Voltaire uses retail websites, social networks and mobile applications to expand and enhance its sales activities and its Digital Marketing team wanted on the one hand, a mobile version of the retail website and on the other, an iPad application to publish magazines based on its paper catalogs. The aim of the iPad application was to combine graphics, user-friendliness, interactivity, geolocation and e-Commerce to develop brand visibility whilst creating a new, original way to e-shop.

Ségolène de Cassagne, Zadig & Voltaire Web Manager, explains: "The iPad application is first a graphic tool that we use to publish exclusive and interactive content. It gives us visibility on a new channel, the AppStore, which complements our mobile site. Being able to buy products from the application is an additional solution asset."

The Zadig & Voltaire Magazine, available on AppStore, is a newsstand in which the brand's interactive catalogs are published. Using the MagPad platform, entirely designed and developed by Interakting, Zadig & Voltaire's concept developers and graphic designers can directly publish catalogs from an easy-to-use, intuitive web back-office. They can create pages featuring interactive and multimedia elements such as videos, enhanced texts and sound or music, and do so autonomously. MagPad is developed using the PHP Factory components library.

Raphaël Carles, Interakting Technical Director, comments "MagPad was designed to make business users' lives easier. It is scalable and soon, will allow the development of applications on other tablet and smartphone mobile platforms (iOS, Android, etc.). It is laying the foundations for a mobile development standard model that will be adaptable to numerous fields."

Ségolène de Cassagne adds: "Interakting's teams have been extremely attentive to our needs. And the platform was developed in record-breaking time. We launched the project in October 2012 and the platform was delivered in February. The Zadig & Voltaire magazine application has been online since and already won over some 10,000 users."

Thanks to the application being promoted on Zadig & Voltaire's website and a mailing to customers upon its launch, the number of users is steadily growing. Zadig & Voltaire is considering a more ambitious campaign to support the application's development when the 20,000 user-mark is reached. In the meantime, the company is testing its publications and their impact. Ségolène de Cassagne observes that "customer retention is good and the average weight of purchase is higher than on the website. However, the website has a higher conversion rate. The iPad application's statistics are similar to those of social networks, like Twitter, launched in comparable conditions. Whereas we had initially decided on a digital version of our 40-page catalog, updated on a quarterly basis, we are now testing a shorter and more dynamic format, updated every 5 weeks with even more exclusive content." The first results from this new format should be available in early 2014. Interakting will invite Zadig & Voltaire to present these findings during an event organized for other customers.

New features are already included in Magpad future version releases for better adaptation to the catalog format and the creation of a smartphone and web version.
