The Buzzi Unicem USA Chattanooga, Tennessee, Plant is a community-friendly plant. Human Resources Administrator, Sandy Watkins, organizes monthly activities to benefit local charities and our community, often supported by volunteers from our plant employees.
Recently the Chattanooga Plant donated over 200 tons of stone from its Bennett's Lake quarry to the Marion County Park used to improve the unpaved roadways in the park as well as the 56 campsites. Plant employees were also involved in the construction of a new pavilion and playground at the park. Sand donated by one of the Plant's vendors was also used to create a beach volleyball court near the lake that borders the park.
The enhancements greatly improved access to, and use of, the park and were met with resounding praise from local officials and residents. Our Chattanooga Plant employees recognize that they have the ability to help meet the needs of those around them and step up to meet these challenges. Whether it is to provide needed food and clothing, blood to the local blood bank, or donations of product, time and money Chattanooga leads the way!
