In April 2017, Unical acquired the ready-mix concrete business unit of Monvil Beton, taking over the entire production, sales and delivery organization.
For years, Monvil Beton was the largest producer of concrete in the Milan area and one of the largest in Italy, with eight active batching plants in Arluno, Assago, Caponago, Mariano Comense, Nova Milanese, San Vittore Olona, Senago and Pero, of which five operating in quarries belonging to the company.
Immediately after taking over the company, Unical installed billing and automation management software in the plants, in line with best business practices. Unical also ensured that all the plants operate in accordance with safety standards, comply with environmental regulations, and that all the supply contracts in effect with customers are being met without exceptions or delays.
This transaction enables Unical to strengthen its leadership role in the Lombardy market.
