CA, Inc. : CA Technologies Shoots to Top 5 on Newsweek’s 2012 Green Rankings

Company Ranks #2 for the IT and Services Industry

ISLANDIA, N.Y., October 29, 2012 - CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that it placed  fifth out of 500 in Newsweek's 2012 Green Rankings of U.S. companies, up from ninth place last year. The company ranked  second in its industry sector, information technology and services.

The Newsweek Green Rankings grade the 500 largest publicly traded U.S. companies on their environmental footprint (including greenhouse gas emissions and water use), management (including environmental policies, programs, and initiatives) and disclosure (including company reporting and involvement in transparency initiatives).

To produce the 2012 Green Rankings, Newsweek collaborated with leading environmental research providers, Trucost and Sustainalytics, to assess each company's environmental footprint, management of that footprint, and transparency. The Green Rankings focus on the largest publicly traded companies in America (the  U.S. 500 list) and worldwide (the Global 500 list). Each list consists of the largest 500 companies by revenue (most recent fiscal year), market capitalization, and number of employees, as of April 30, 2012. A number of the largest U.S.-based companies appear on both lists.
