CaixaBank receives the special Honorable Mention for Innovative Spirit Award at the Global Banking Innovation Awards

• Recibox, a bill payment management service, wins the Product & Service Innovation Award

CaixaBank received the special Honorable Mention for Innovative Spirit Award at the 2014 Global Banking Innovation Awards held today in Chicago (USA). The global awards, organised by Bank Administration Institute (BAI) and Infosys, recognise innovation in retail banking.

In addition to Honorable Mention for Innovative Spirit, CaixaBank received the Product & Service Innovation Award for its Recibox customer bills payment service. This pioneering development entails a service that avoid incidents in accounts, helping customers forecast and manage their finances. Recibox already has a million customers.

Only six different financial institutions around the world won 2014 Global Banking Innovation Awards. In addition to CaixaBank, the judging panel consisting of international specialists in finance and technology recognised Denizbank from Turkey and Mbank from Poland, among others. There were over 200 nominees from a number of countries in this year's edition of the awards.

The distinction bestowed on CaixaBank recognises its approach of engaging customers through innovation and technology and reflects the on-going commitment by CaixaBank to innovation. The organisation points out the consistency of CaixaBank in innovating their products, services and processes to drive value and success for customers.

Recibox, a direct debt management service designed to avoid unpleasant surprises

ReciBox is a direct debit management service that uses the latest developments in online banking, mobile banking and data analysis to make it easier for customers to manage their finances.

ReciBox is the first service created by a financial institution in Spain that alerts customers before bills are paid out of their accounts, preventing incidents from, for instance, unusually large bills or a lack of available funds.

It is a multi-device application available for any PC, mobile phone or tablet accessible through CaixaBank's online banking channel, Línea Abierta. It is available exclusively and free of charge for CaixaBank multiEstrella loyalty programme members.
