News Release BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -California Water Service Company (Cal Water) received the 2014 Water Efficiency and Conservation Award from Kern Green at the 2014 Green Awards Banquet yesterday. The Water Efficiency and Conservation Award recognizes the achievements of businesses and organizations in reducing water consumption.

Cal Water was selected for helping families and businesses reduce their water use by 49,227,000 gallons in Kern County in 2013. Cal Water regularly hosts outreach opportunities to educate customers on how to conserve and offers free conservation kits, spray nozzles, and rebate programs to customers at no charge. Kern Green is a non-profit organization committed to protecting the environment by promoting education and awareness.

"We are honored to be the recipient of this year's Water Efficiency and Conservation Award," said Cal Water District Manager Rudy Valles. "We are proud that we were able to help reduce water use in the local community, and we are committed to continuing to educate and be a resource to our customers to further reduce water consumption, both during the drought and for years to come."
