There will be no escaping the power of a wish when customers visit their nearest Caltex Star Mart site this Friday 21 and Saturday 22 November for the annual 'Star Mart Wish Drive', which will raise money for Make-A-Wish® Australia.

After a hugely successful first year in 2013, which saw the Wish Drive raise over $400,000 to grant the wishes of seriously ill children, Caltex has come on board again in an effort to raise even more this year.

"Make-A-Wish has been blown away by the incredible support of Star Mart since the first Wish Drive in 2013. To raise such a large sum of money is nothing short of phenomenal and we have absolute faith that they will do it again this year to help more wishes come true," said Gerard Menses, CEO, Make-A-Wish Australia.

Caltex Australia General Manager Marketing Bruce Rosengarten said over 370 Star Mart stores would be embracing the challenge by taking part in this week's Wish Drive.

"With the combined strength of Caltex and hundreds of franchisees and site operators that make up our vast national network of convenience stores, together we can raise the funds needed to help grant the wishes of seriously-ill children," said Mr Rosengarten.

"Caltex customers can expect to see their local Star Mart celebrating the Wish Drive through a variety of ways, such as sausage sizzles, windscreen washing, face painting and, in the case of the Helensvale store in Queensland, a petting zoo."

There will also be the opportunity for customers to make gold coin donations and purchase merchandise. A portion of sales of selected products in-store will also go towards the Wish Drive.

The Star Mart Wish Drive campaign period officially kicked off on 12 November and will run through until 9 December with customers able to donate to Make-A-Wish in-store throughout the period.
