Cambridge Bancorp and its subsidiary, Cambridge Trust Company, announced the appointment of Sarah (Sally) G. Green to its Board of Directors. Green was First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond from 2006 - 2013. She had responsibility for the Bank's payments systems, outreach, financial management, information technology, and corporate support services.

At the national level, Green served as a member and immediate past-chair of the Federal Reserve System’s Conference of Chief Operating Officers. She was also a member of the Financial Services Policy Committee, which sets the strategic direction and oversees the System’s payments services.

Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, Green held various positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in its payments systems and economic research areas.

Green served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg and chaired its Women's Leadership Initiative from July 2008 to June 2011. She also served as Chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond’s Board of Directors. Green was a member of the Board of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, the Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond Leadership Council, and the Executive Advisory Council of the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. She received the 2012 YWCA Outstanding Woman Award in the Business category.

Green received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Mount Holyoke College and earned a master of science in management from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is married and has two daughters and one son-in-law.
