Even as temperatures drop across most of the country, organic eating has never been hotter. Today, Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB), in partnership with Sperling’s ‘Best Places,’ announced the nation’s top cities for organic eating. The first-ever study found that seven out of the 10 hottest cities for organic eating are located in some of America’s coldest winter climates like Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Boston, showing that organic eating is top of mind year-round and not just a trend during the warmer months when more fresh produce is available or peak growing season.

About the Survey: To determine the most organic cities, Sperling’s ‘Best Places’ examined a series of criteria and ranked the metro areas with the highest rate of organic food consumption and production. The criteria included consumer buying index metrics for foods labeled as organic, volume of USDA certified organic producers, the number of online search results for organic grocery stores and restaurants, and prevalence of local farmer’s markets and community supported agricultural groups. The findings separated the hot from the cold in organic eating trendsetters.
