To celebrate the launch, on Wednesday, August 17, Prego is bringing a farm to the concrete jungle – transforming a 450 square foot outdoor space in Chelsea Plaza into a farm inside a larger-than-life mason-style jar. New Yorkers will have the opportunity to tour a thirty-foot Prego Farmers’ Market jar that will bring a farm oasis to the bustling city. Visitors will be greeted by hanging planters and walls covered in fresh vegetables and succulent herbs. They will have the opportunity to pick vine-ripe tomatoes, take a break on a haystack, play games or snap a selfie on a 14-foot tractor.

“We’re inviting New Yorkers to a first of its kind experience, a farm in a mason jar!” said Neeli Straiges, Senior Marketing Manager, Prego. “We are excited about the launch of Prego Farmers’ Market and wanted to bring the essence of the product to life in a unique way. The new sauce is made with the highest quality ingredients and what better way to showcase the launch than to bring a farm to life in the center of New York City.”

Prego Farmers’ Market was created by a passionate team of chefs and foodies who were looking for the authentic feel of homemade sauce. They visited local farmers’ markets, bought different types of tomatoes and had consumers test dozens of recipes before landing on a sauce with the perfect crushed tomato texture, flavor and aroma.

The three new sauces are made with simple, quality ingredients. The new varieties include:

  • Prego Farmers' Market Classic Marinara: This perfectly seasoned sauce is made with vine-ripened tomatoes, olive oil, basil, onions and oregano for a rich, savory flavor.
  • Prego Farmers' Market Roasted Garlic: This wholesome sauce is made with roasted garlic, which adds a sweetness to the vine-ripened tomatoes and olive oil.
  • Prego Farmers' Market Tomato & Basil: This savory sauce is made with basil, an essential ingredient in any Italian recipe, which adds to the flavors of the vine-ripened tomatoes and olive oil.

Prego Farmers’ Market sauces are packaged in 23.5oz. glass mason jars, which are recyclable. Prego Farmers’ Market sauces are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99. For more information, visit www.prego.com or www.Facebook.com/Prego.
