EDMONTON, September 11, 2014 - Canadian Western Bank (CWB) will once again support Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) agencies across Western Canada through The Greater Interest GIC® campaign. Clients who choose to invest will earn a guaranteed return while also prompting a corporate donation from CWB, based on the amount invested. To ensure local kids benefit, donations are directed to the BBBS agency operating in the city or region where the investment is made.

"This product is unique to CWB, and we're proud to offer it to our clients," said Angela Saveraux, CWB's manager of public relations and community investment. "Our donations from this campaign over the past seven years have totaled almost $1.3 million, and I've been privileged to see the tremendous impact these dollars have had on local kids. The value of mentorship for both the mentor and the child is very apparent, and we're thrilled to play a small role in facilitating this process in the communities where we operate."

From now until October 31, The Greater Interest GIC® is available in all CWB branches. Clients can choose from four competitive rates based on terms ranging from 13 to 49 months, depending on what works best for them.

"Canadian Western Bank has once again stepped up to support the work we do with some of Canada's most vulnerable and at-risk children," said Joel Porter, Vice President of Revenue Development at BBBS Canada. "This campaign is an excellent example of how a company can bring together their employees, clients and corporate philanthropy program to benefit the community. We look forward to another successful campaign and encourage our supporters to learn more."
