EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Nov 7, 2014) - Canadian Western Bank (CWB) is pleased to announce its continued partnership with Junior Achievement chapters across Western Canada with a $375,000 contribution over the next three years. CWB is renewing its support of Economics for Success, a grade nine or high school program that helps students understand the financial demands of independence and explores the resources needed to support their lifelong educational and career journey. Employees at CWB will also continue to volunteer in classrooms across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

"Junior Achievement is a true asset for students interested in learning how to make informed financial decisions," said Chris Fowler, CWB's president and CEO. "The continuation of our partnership demonstrates our commitment to supporting Junior Achievement's important work. We see great value in ensuring that financial literacy programming is accessible at an early age."

"CWB and Junior Achievement share a common vision to support students and inspire them to stay in school and become future leaders," said Scott Hillier, Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta's president and CEO. "Thanks to the financial and volunteer support of CWB, thousands of students in Western Canada will gain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in the workplace and in life."

The announcement was made at JA's Futures Unlimited reception on November 4, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta. The event, planned and hosted by Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta and NWT, recognized donors for their ongoing contributions.
