Edmonton, April 11, 2016 - Canadian Western Bank (CWB) is proud to have recently been recognized by Employment and Social Development Canada at the inaugural Employment Equity Achievement Awards in the category of Improved Representation. The award represents CWB's improvement in workforce representation of designated group members between 2010 and 2014.

'We believe that a diverse workplace is critical to our ongoing success,' said Kelly Blackett, Executive Vice President, Human Resources. 'The more diverse we are as a business, the more innovative we can be which means better service for our clients. We're very proud of the diversity initiatives we've undertaken to date and we look forward to continuing to eliminate potential barriers and address representation gaps.'

The Employment Equity Achievement Awards recognize federally regulated private-sector employers for their commitment to creating diverse and inclusive Canadian workplaces. They also provide a forum for showcasing and sharing best practices in implementing employment equity.
