CanElson Drilling Inc. is engaged in operating land-based contract drilling rigs in Canada and the United States for oil and natural gas exploration and development companies. The Company also provides compressed natural gas (CNG) and raw gas transportation (RGT) services through its subsidiary, CanGas Solutions Inc. (CanGas). The Company, through its 50% ownership interest in Diavaz CanElson de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (DCM), operates in Mexico. The Company's 25 of the 28 drilling rigs in the Canadian rig fleet were tele-doubles, focused on drilling horizontal wells with depths up to 6,300 meters. Other two rigs are AC triples in British Columbia. The fleet operates 13 rigs in the oil weighted Bakken and Spearfish resource plays of Saskatchewan and Manitoba and 15 rigs focused in the oil and liquids resource plays of Alberta and north east British Columbia. In United States, the Company operates in two active basins with 14 rigs in the Permian Basin and six rigs in the Williston Basin.
