MELVILLE, N.Y., Oct. 1, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced its sponsorship of the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association's (IPMA) interactive panel session, an event focused on four degrees of innovation for business enhancement and new ideas to help establish best practices. The informative discussion, held September 30, 2014, took place during GRAPH EXPO 14, the industry's largest trade show dedicated to all things print.

Providing forums for education, networking, and business development has made the IPMA a highly valued resource in the industry. Their annual lunch and learn session during GRAPH EXPO is recognized as one of their best efforts, featuring speakers and topics specifically geared to the needs of in-plant printing and graphics professionals.

Throughout the event, which gathered 80 attendees, IPMA successfully created an atmosphere that helped generate engaging conversations centered around four degrees of innovation:

  • Metrics – Providing the In-Plant's Worth
  • Making it Easy to do Business with the In-Plant
  • New Product & Service Offerings
  • Getting Staff Involved & Committed

Each topic offered a substantial amount of insight, giving both panelists and attendees alike the opportunity to hear from a wide variety of industry experts.

Adam Orcutt, Director of Digital Output Technologies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, was one of the panelists at the event. Orcutt felt the topics offered a comprehensive look into the industry. "The discussions proved to be extremely worthwhile and valuable for all of us involved, and offered keen perspectives on how to keep your printing business innovative," said Orcutt, who is a Canon Solutions America customer. "It's always exciting to hear how your peers are adapting to new and evolving industry trends."

The four degrees of innovation platform served as a comprehensive look into the various ways in-plant professionals can advance their business, and instill a system of best practices to ensure sustained success. Attendees walked away with beneficial information on how to optimize value-added programs, new products and services, employee engagement, and sound business engagement.

"We were extremely proud to be a part of such a rewarding event that reinforced Canon Solutions America's commitment to working together with the IPMA," said Tracie Sokol, vice president, Enterprise Services and Solutions, Canon Solutions America. "It's events like these that keep us closely connected to our customers."

"Our goal was to give each in-plant professional a new and refreshed take on the industry, while pointing out specific needs that are essential to their operations," said Carma Goin, executive director of IPMA. "It was a pleasure to work with Canon Solutions America and the rest of our participants – we felt the event was a major success."
