Cardinal Community Fund Awards Grant to DC Grays Baseball

Tysons Corner, Virginia - Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ: CFNL) announced today that the Cardinal Community Fund has awarded $2,500 to the DC Grays Baseball organization. The Washington,

DC-based organization provides opportunities for college players, particularly African-American players, to develop their skills against some of the top college players in the country. Cardinal's grant helped support the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy's summer skills clinics that focus on baseball and softball development, as well as academic achievement and nutrition education for low income, at-risk youth in DC's inner city. The Grays baseball team serves as role models, mentors and coaches for the summer programs.

Cardinal President Kevin Reynolds and Vice President David Williams presented a check to DC Grays Baseball board members Bill Thomas, Kenneth Robbett and Barry Direnfeld, with students from the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy's summer clinic. This is Cardinal's second year participating in the summer clinic. Bank volunteers coached the boys and girls teams in baseball and softball while KC Cardinal, the Bank's mascot, also spent time with the kids and even threw out the first pitch.
