DUBLIN, Ohio, Aug. 1, 2014 - Cardinal Health will highlight continuing education and inventory management solutions that provide visibility to the supply chain and enable cost savings at the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) annual conference in Orlando Aug. 3-6.

The company will host a continuing education (CE) activity focused on supply chain efficiency in Learning Pavilion 2 from 3:30 - 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4. "Unleashing the Value Trapped in Your Supply Chain" will help participants learn how to apply a Lean Six Sigma approach to workflow and processes to:

• Identify ways to reduce clinical time spent on supply chain functions
• Understand how to eliminate cycle counting routines
• Employ exception management work practices

In addition to the CE, Cardinal Health booth #701 will feature Cardinal Health Inventory Management Solutions, a comprehensive suite of products and services that enables real-time tracking and management of inventory across the entire supply chain, from manufacturer to point of care. The SaaS-based analytics platform optimizes the configuration of various inventory management tools to track high-priced physician preference items as well as low-cost, high-volume consumables.

"CIMS isn't just about tracking inventory," said Jean-Claude Saghbini, vice president and general manager of Cardinal Health Inventory Management Solutions at Cardinal Health. "Real-time visibility, point-of-use capture and powerful analytics can help teams effectively manage inventory, so they can play a dramatic part in controlling costs, improving efficiency and supporting high quality care."

AHRMM attendees visiting the Cardinal Health booth for insight into approaches to solve their supply chain issues or for a demo can also help Cardinal Health raise awareness of the needs of injured service members. The company is donating $10 per visitor to the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP). As a token of appreciation, visitors will receive a WWP wristband.
