​Cardno's Brownfields Practice Leader, Roger Register, will be presenting at the annual National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) conference, held in Durham, NC, March 27-30.

During his presentation, 'Making a Housing Difference, Public Private Partnership Achieves Success in Redevelopment,' he will discuss how a private housing developer partnered with the city of Lithonia, GA, to redevelop the neglected and abandoned Lithonia Shopping Plaza into 75 housing units. In addition, Roger will share how partnering with local and federal authorities to leverage available funding sources and regulatory incentives can help overcome redevelopment hurdles.

Roger has more than 18 years of brownfields experience, including working with federal and state brownfield programs and EPA grantees to deliver projects focused on sustainable and viable alternatives for impacted communities. He previously served as the first Brownfields Program Manager for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) providing state-wide management of the Brownfields Redevelopment Program from 1998 through 2005. Roger is a current board member of the Georgia Brownfields Association and a past president and former board member of the Florida Brownfields Association.
