Cardno is pleased to announce that Mr John Ford has been appointed as the new Pacific Operations Manager for our Government Services Division.

John brings 36 years of experience and leadership in environmental resource management for public and private sector clients throughout the Pacific. He will lead Cardno's operations and strengthen our long-term success in the region by ensuring high-quality services to our existing clients and by expanding our services to new local and regional clients.

John will be based in Honolulu, Hawaii, managing a team of 18 professionals located at offices in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.

Extensive Experience and Community Investment

John's clients have included U.S. Department of Defense agencies (Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force commands and installations in the Pacific and East Asia), federal land management agencies, state and local agencies, public utilities, and commercial firms. He supported these clients in various disciplines, including military planning, power generation, renewable energy, transportation, real estate development, communications, architecture and engineering, urban planning and water supply industries.

John's experience also includes biological and ecological field studies throughout the Pacific, NEPA compliance, natural and cultural resource management, regulatory compliance and permitting, mitigation and restoration planning, GIS, project planning and direction, business development and leadership of regional offices.

Before joining Cardno, John advanced the growth and profitability of technical and environmental consulting businesses in Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. He has authored dozens technical publications and is a member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals, the Pacific Science Association, and the Society of American Military Engineers.

In addition, John has broad volunteer experience in Hawaii, including past service on the Natural Areas Reserve System Commission and Aquatic Invasive Species Advisory Group. He also served on working groups involved with developing State Water Quality Standards and State Water Code.

John received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, focusing on tropical insular marine and aquatic ecology.
