Carmanah's latest product line addition is designed to meet the needs of customers who require a high intensity, portable airfield lighting capability.  Based on U.S. Department of Defense specifications, the High Mobility Cable Trailer is a robust power supply and transportation solution for Carmanah's A704-H hybrid runway edge lights.

The functional and tough trailer ensures that the airfield lighting system can be moved quickly and efficiently to support maneuver operations. Specifically designed to be towable by a Humvee, the air-transportable MIL-SPEC trailer can be equipped with all the cables and ancillary components to support a fully functional expeditionary runway or helipad lighting system. A typical trailer loadout includes a generator, power distribution units, charging cables, power supply boxes, cable protectors and tie down stakes.

Normally used in solar-only configuration, the hybrid A704-H lights may be connected to the trailer's on-board generator for long term, continuous operation. The unique A704-H surpasses the standards for medium intensity runway lights (MIRL) and provides a high intensity runway light (HIRL) capability up to 500 candela. It is ideal for use on expeditionary airfields and helipads, for disaster relief operations, and as emergency backup airfield lighting. Due to their exceptionally high intensity, the lights are especially relevant when low visibility operations may be required.
