Company Celebrates with Community Donations

RICHMOND, Virginia (February 4, 2015) - CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation's largest retailer of used cars, officially opened its first store in Bloomington, Illinois, located at 1213 Holiday Drive. The store is more than 8,000 square feet, occupies more than 4 acres and stocks more than 130 used vehicles.

In celebration of the Bloomington store opening, CarMax donated $2,500 to The Baby Fold, a nonprofit agency serving children and families in Illinois. Bloomington CarMax associates selected this nonprofit because of its mission to transform the lives of children by building safe, loving, healthy environments through foster care, adoption services, special education, residential treatment, and family and community services.

The CarMax Foundation also is providing a $5,000 grant to the Town of Normal Children's Discovery Museum. The Museum has committed to educate 1,000 low-income youth by partnering with after-school programs to offer free Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) programming. The CarMax Foundation grant will expand access to STEAM learning by increasing the number of youth served. This grant also came at the recommendation of Bloomington CarMax associates.

'We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of the Bloomington CarMax by giving back to the community where we live and work,' said Gabriel Kohn, location general manager of the Bloomington CarMax. 'We look forward to developing relationships with community partners and providing our customers with the unique CarMax experience.'
