On 13 September 2012, the Majid Al Futtaim Group - our
franchise partner - opened its first Carrefour hypermarket in
Georgia, in the city of Tbilisi.
The Tbilisi Carrefour will have a sales area of 11,454 m²
over 2 levels and will be located in the east of the town
in the "Tbilisi Mall" shopping centre, together with 150
stores, 5 cinemas and space for 3200 cars.
This is the Majid Al Futtaim group's first store in a
non-Islamic region and will sell both alcohol and
pork-based meat products.
Georgia has a population of 4,600,000, with 1,100,000
people living in Tbilisi.
