Carrefour, partnering the Tour de France's polka-dot jersey, will be making up the Tour's caravan. Starting on 5 July, regional villages throughout France will be gearing up for the various stages that make up the Tour de France. In order to add a little gastronomic pleasure to the race, villages will be showcasing their regional specialities and organising meetings with local producers.

Everybody - back into the saddle for the Tour de France with Carrefour
Carrefour wants to make this year's Tour de France a festive occasion and so is joining forces with 18 regional villages along its route that are close to Carrefour and Carrefour Market stores. A wide range of activities (mountain bike tours, football tournaments for children, etc.) will be on offer so that the general public can have some fun and enjoy a little sport, as well as watching the race on giant screens installed in each village.
The Tour de France is also an opportunity to rediscover the treasures of the regions through which the race passes. Each regional village will be getting its local producers and farmers to organise tastings of their regional products.

Once again this year Carrefour will be part of the famous Tour de France's caravan. And for the first time, it has two Carrefour Market delivery tricycles on the start and finish lines, distributing nearly 2 tonnes of fruit along the whole length of the race, ensuring that the cyclists get all the fresh produce that they need.

Carrefour has set up a dedicated website so that its customers can get all the latest updates about the Tour de France: www.carrefour.fr - with commentaries from experts like Richard Virenque and Jacky Durant, videos of the various stages and info about who's wearing the polka-dot jersey - as well as an opportunity to play the game "pass the caravan"...

Carrefour - partnering the Tour de France for more than 20 years
The Tour de France is over 100 years old and is considered the most prestigious cycling race in the world. From Saturday 5 July to Sunday, 27 July 2014, cyclists will cover a total distance of more than 3500 km over 21 stages as part of this year's the 101st Tour de France.
Carrefour has been partnering the Tour de France for 21 years with the famous polka-dot jersey that is awarded to the King of the Mountains every year. This partnership is built on a platform of values that Carrefour and the Tour de France both share: a willingness to showcase the riches of France's regions and the desire to serve the general public. In 2014, Carrefour is once again joining forces with the Tour de France and reasserting its commitment to this highly symbolic race.
