Carrefour's 'Back to School' campaign will distribute over €2 million worth of discount to families this year for the purchase of text books. For every €70 purchased, customers buying books either in the supermarket or online at Carrefour.es will receive €10 to use on future purchases of school, textile and office automation items.

The sale of text books through Carrefour.es increases year on year, confirming a growing consumer trend and offering numerous advantages such as not having to reserve books before hand and free home delivery for any amount of purchase within a maximum 48 hours. Just like buying the books in the hypermarkets, on-line sales enjoy the same advantages of free financing.

Up to 14 August, when the reservation period ended, over 200,000 reservations of text books were received in over 200 hypermarkets and via the Carrefour web site, and these are sold with the maximum discounts allowed by law: 5% for children's and baccalaureate books and the best price for primary and secondary school books.

6,700 employees
During the summer campaign, Carrefour increased its workforce by 6,700 people in order to offer its customers the best service and personalised attention in a bid to be one of the leading employers in our country, which currently has a team of 49,000 employees.
