A Record Amount for Centraide Centre-du-Québec: Cascades Employees Go Above and Beyond Once Again!

January 30th, 2015

Kingsey Falls, January 30, 2015 - Once again, Cascaders from the 20 participating units in the Centre-du-Québec region (Drummondville, Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, Kingsey Falls and Victoriaville) stepped up their efforts and managed to raise $310,000 for Centraide Centre-du-Québec. The donation exceeds the amount collected last year by $35,000.

Support from management makes a difference
It is important to recognize the campaign leaders from each unit for their clever and proactive initiatives to organize original activities. Quite likely, the initiatives would not have been carried out had it not been for the exemplary leadership of management, who supports the cause each year. Management shows substantial support by encouraging employees to solicit their colleagues for donations. The numbers speak for themselves: at Cascades, there is a 56% participation rate, or more than one out of two employees, and the average employee donation is $175. At Cascades, the generosity of employees makes all the difference!

Cascades, a model of philanthropy
The Cascades management team congratulates everyone who contributed to this phenomenal success. At the start of the Centraide campaign, management challenged Cascaders to help raise the participation rate, or to increase their contribution. The Company even announced that, if the challenge was met, Cascades would increase its corporate donation from 50% to 60% of the amount donated by employees. The message was heard loud and clear, and Cascaders rose to the challenge. "Cascades is extremely proud to see that, year after year, our employees go the extra mile to make a difference in their community," said Mario Plourde, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades.
