December 12th, 2017

KINGSEY FALLS, QC , Dec. 12, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Cascades Inc. (TSX: CAS), a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of green packaging and tissue products, is pleased to announce that it received the Tissue - Innovation Award for its Cascades Fluff & Tuff™ brand at the 9 edition of the Pulp & Paper International Awards, which took place in Brussels on November 29 .

This annual international event is organized by RISI, the leading information provider for the pulp and paper industry. According to the organization, the Tissue - Innovation category was created to 'highlight some of the incredibly imaginative work carried out by tissue producers to keep an increasingly demanding consumer happy.' To claim a spot among the five other finalists, the Consumer Products marketing team demonstrated the innovative nature of the new Cascades Fluff & Tuff brand, its strong market presence and consumer satisfaction levels.

Cascades Tissue Group launched the national brand on March 14, 2017 . 'We launched a line of toilet paper and paper towels that is among the softest and strongest on the market, while maintaining all of the green properties our products are known for. Our objective was simple, to offer consumers the comfort and performance they're looking for in a product, while also protecting the environment. We wanted our new and improved products to become the brand of choice for more and more families across the country, and we are achieving this goal. Convincing the industry of the innovative value of products and winning over consumers in a matter of months was a considerable but worthwhile challenge,' said Jean Jobin , President and Chief Operating Officer of Cascades Tissue Group.

This strong market presence was made possible by our diligent development and marketing efforts. 'Our teams worked closely together for over two years reviewing each step in the manufacturing process in order to provide the superior quality that Cascades Fluff™ and Cascades Tuff™ products deliver. No detail was ignored to improve the products for the families, beginning with the manufacturing formula for the paper all the way through to its embossing and packaging. This award definitely brings value to everything that we've accomplished,' said Thierry Trudel , Vice-President, Marketing and Innovation at Cascades Tissue Group.
