Caterpillar to Feature the Latest in Engine
Technologies at the 2012 Global Petroleum Show
New Dynamic Gas Blending Retrofit Kit, Transmission
Ideal for Drilling, Well Service
Calgary, Canada- Caterpillar Inc.
will have a number of technologies demonstrating its
expertise in petroleum applications on display at the 2012
Global Petroleum Show held June 12 - 14 in Calgary, Canada.
Among the products on display in the Caterpillar booth will
be the company's new Dynamic Gas Blending retrofit kit and
the Cat® CX48-2300 transmission. In addition, the company
will showcase the Cat G3520 engine and G3306 generator set
as well as the C15 hazardous location solutions.
The new Dynamic Gas Blending retrofit
kit provides customers with a
cost-effective dual fuel option. The Dynamic Gas Blending
kit allows customers to reduce fuel costs and meet changing
emissions regulations by utilizing a wide range of gaseous
fuels in their existing diesel generator sets. The kit
automatically adjusts to changes in incoming fuel quality
and pressure allowing engines to run on a wide variety of
fuels, from associated gas to gasified LNG with no loss of
performance integrity. It maintains diesel performance
levels with up to 70 percent replacement of diesel with
gas, accepts up to 55 percent inerts, and can be applied to
existing engines with EPA certification.
"As a market leader, Caterpillar is pleased to
continuously introduce innovative new offerings to our

improved performance, better speed turndown and a common
air system with the 3516B. The G3520B also features
improved altitude and temperature performance, providing
customers with more power at sites featuring complex
conditions.
The recently-introduced Cat CX48-P2300 transmission,
designed specifically for hydraulic fracturing associated
with well stimulation and completion will be featured in
the booth at the Global Petroleum show. Weighing in at
3,530 pounds (1,601 kg), the CX48-P2300 is the lightest
weight transmission available for well-fracturing
