On 21st August 2017, Cathay Pacific entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Airbus S.A.S. in relation to the acquisition of 32 Airbus A321- 200neo aircraft from Airbus S.A.S.

On 21st August 2017, Cathay Pacific entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Airbus S.A.S. in relation to the acquisition of 32 Airbus A321- 200neo aircraft (the "Airbus Aircraft") from Airbus S.A.S. The actual acquisition of the Airbus Aircraft will be subject to formal purchase documentation to be entered into between Cathay Pacific and Airbus Company in due course.

The Airbus Aircraft are intended to be operated mainly by Cathay Dragon.

According to information provided to Cathay Pacific by Airbus S.A.S., the catalogue price of the Airbus Aircraft in aggregate is approximately US$4,064 million (equivalent to approximately HK$31,699 million). The aggregate consideration payable for the Airbus Aircraft, reflecting arm's length negotiations between the parties, will be lower than the catalogue price. The acquisition of the Airbus Aircraft will be a major transaction for Cathay Pacific under Chapter 14 of the Listing Rules. Accordingly, Cathay Pacific will make a further announcement upon entering into formal purchase documentation for the Airbus Aircraft.

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Listing Rules and Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong). Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution in dealing in shares of Cathay Pacific.

As at the date of this announcement, the Directors of the Company are:
