Caverion has secured a contract with technology company HOERBIGER to install heating, sanitation, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling and automation to their new central HOERBIGER site in Vienna, Austria. The total value of the contract is over EUR 6 million and it includes project management and execution. The work on site is already underway and will be completed in spring 2016.

The total surface area of the new central complex is 23,700 m². It includes research, development, production and administration areas for the industry client HOERBIGER Kompressortechnik Holding GmbH. The area has similar feel to a university campus and is divided into production area and administrative buildings.

The building technology has been designed with a focus on energy efficiency and the entire life cycle of the property: with a total heating output of 2 000 kW, the heating will be powered by a gas-fired boiler plant, for instance. The exhaust heat from a gas engine and the air compressors will be used to heat rooms and drinking water.

Air will circulate through around 30 supply and return air systems featuring sustainable, high-performance heat recovery units and exhaust air moisturising to make use of evaporation cooling.
