NEW YORK, Nov. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Christa Robinson has been named Senior Vice President of Communications for CBS News, it was announced today by David Rhodes, President of the Division, and Gil Schwartz, Chief Communications Officer for CBS Corporation. In this role, Robinson will oversee CBS News' day-to-day media relations activities, as well as public affairs and communications strategy. She will report to both Rhodes and Schwartz.

Robinson brings to the role a wealth of experience, including leadership of communications at CNN and its global networks for more than a decade. She also oversaw corporate communications for Tribune Media Company, and has served as Director of Communications for the White House Domestic Policy Council. At CBS News, she will play a senior role in directing all the Division's communications strategies and public relations activities, working to enhance and expand its media presence for broadcast and digital platforms.

Robinson previously led communications and public relations functions for all CNN networks and digital platforms, in addition to being a member of its worldwide executive team. Robinson also handled crisis communications, innovative social media integrations and brand awareness campaigns for CNN programming and CNN.com. More recently, she served as Chief Communications Officer for the Tribune Media, where she oversaw all media relations activities for its television and digital properties. Robinson also worked as the Director of Communications for the Clinton White House's Domestic Policy Council. She began her career in government affairs.
