HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.- July 17, 2018 - CDK Global (Nasdaq: CDK), together with The National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD), today announced the recipients of its annual 'Fueling Careers' Scholarship Program. Three students were awarded scholarships in the amount of $10,000, enabling each to continue on their paths to a higher education and a prosperous career.

The winners of the 2018 Fueling Careers Scholarship are:

  • Eugene Wood - attending Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan
  • Lyman King - attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Sabrina Linares - attending Florida Atlantic University

Sabrina Linares, an accounting major, is the first student to receive the scholarship for two consecutive years. Sabrina's tenacity and dedication to her studies are among the qualities CDK and NAMAD imagined supporting when they created this scholarship.

'Both NAMAD and CDK are committed to helping build resilient leaders, as well as a strong pipeline of minority talent for the next generation,' said Damon Lester, president, NAMAD. 'It is our sincere hope that the financial support these scholarships provide will help students fuel their education, achieve their goals, and launch their careers.'

The Fueling Careers Scholarship Program began in 2017 with a three-year pledge that includes $150,000 in scholarship funding. It aims to provide eligible applicants the opportunity to achieve their education and career-specific goals. Applicants eligible for a Fueling Careers Scholarship must be planning to attend or is currently attending an accredited college/university, has a parent employed by a NAMAD dealership, and is sponsored by a current NAMAD member.

The scholarship application and award process was managed by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS). Selection of the final three award recipients were performed by ISTS and approved by the Fueling Careers Scholarship Committee consisting of CDK and NAMAD members. Award recipients were selected based upon both academic merit and financial need.
