Celadon was one of three trucking firms to be awarded the Tier 1 truckload designation.

Alcoa launched its Tier 1 Core Carrier program in 2005 to drive alignment with its core carriers. Carriers are measured on several key metrics, including tender acceptance, tender expiration, shipment volume, EDI compliance, and on-time performance.

Alcoa's Manager of Motor Carrier Sourcing, Ann Johnson, presented the award at the Alcoa's annual carrier conference and awards banquet in Knoxville, TN in April.
