INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Celadon Trucking unveiled two new initiatives designed to offer a better experience for its drivers. The WageLock(TM) pay program and FleetWire(TM) mobile application were created as a means to better help drivers address the challenges of driving a truck.

Through the WageLock program, company drivers who meet the requirements can earn up to $1000 a week, regardless of how many miles they drive. Qualifying for the pay program is easy and the better the driver's status, the higher the payout. The program will officially go into effect on November 1, 2015.

"We want to compensate our company drivers who do their jobs every day and pay them in situations where there's not freight available for them to get miles," said Matt Douglass, Vice President of Operations at Celadon. "Our WageLock program does just that."

Celadon implemented FleetWire to give drivers access to tools and functionality aimed at making their jobs easier. Celadon partnered with Pegasus TransTech to create the most flexible mobile application in the industry, designed to meet fleet-specific driver communication needs.

"At Celadon, we're always looking for ways to make life easier for our drivers on the road," said Steve Edmonds, Vice President of Information Technology at Celadon. "Our FleetWire mobile app will provide our drivers the convenience of document scanning, load tendering and messaging in this all-in-one phone app."

With FleetWire, Celadon is taking advantage of the fully configurable and integrated Driver Portal, which gives drivers instant access to key information, including company news, safety information, training tools and messages from the carrier. Celadon also is implementing load tendering workflow, giving drivers the ability to manage workflow outside of the cab of the truck, including the ability to see pre-planned loads and the load they are currently dispatched on. These key communication tools deliver essential information right to Celadon's drivers' smartphones.
