Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global technology and specialty materials company, will showcase its sustainable and proven Ateva® G Medical grades of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers at the 2015 International Component and Manufacturing Design (ICMD) tradeshow May 15-18 in Shanghai, China. The use of EVA in medical applications will be demonstrated at booth J39-J41 in Hall 6.1 of the Pacifico Convention Plaza in Shanghai.

“Celanese Ateva® G Medical EVA copolymers work well alone or in polymer blends and are a safe and sustainable alternative to PVC,” said Jose Reyes, Global Strategic Market Manager, Celanese. “EVA has been safely used in medical devices for more than 35 years and has been applied to a variety of applications, including parenteral nutrition bags, cryogenic stem cell bags, infusion tubing, and cell culture bags, to name a few.”

Ateva® G Medical grade EVA copolymers provide up to 40 percent vinyl acetate content that deliver flexibility and weldability without the need for additional additives. Ateva® G Medical copolymers may also be available in custom medical development grades. Celanese provides complete regulatory, processing and technical service and support throughout the medical device development process.

Celanese experts will present the latest developments in the use of EVA in medical applications at a complimentary technical seminar during the event.
