Celtic v Real Madrid: Team news
By: Mark Henderson on 11 Aug, 2012 16:45
DESPITE the absence of a number of top-team regulars, Neil
Lennon has named a strong starting XI for today´s glamour
friendly against Real Madrid in Philadelphia.
The likes of Georgios Samaras, Scott Brown, Victor Wanyama,
Paddy McCourt Mikael Lustig and James Forrest didn't travel
across the Atlantic following their exertions in the
victory over HJK Helsinki.
However, there were still a recognisable nucleus to the
team, while several of the club´s younger players have been
handed the incredible opportunity to face some of the
biggest stars in the game.
Teenager Dylan McGeouch will start the game on the right of
midfield, while Callum McGregor and Marcus Fraser have been
named on the bench. Kick-off is at 7pm Celtic Park
time.
Today´s team:
CELTIC (4-4-2) Zaluska; Matthews, K. Wilson, Mulgrew,
Izaguirre; McGeouch, Kayal, Ledley, Commons; Stokes,
Murphy
Subs: Forster, Rogne, Hooper, McGregor, Fraser
