CENCOSUD CLOSES SALE OF PHARMACIES IN PERU TO MIFARMA Santiago February 10 2016.- Cencosud announced today the sale of the 47 pharmacies that the group operates within the Wong and Metro supermarkets in Peru, to Mifarma chain.


Mifarma belongs to Quicorp group with over 75 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector in Latin America, operating in 6 countries including Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela and Dominican Republic. Mifarma currently has about 600 stores throughout Peru.


This transaction is part of the plan to sell non-core businesses announced by the Company in order to keep the focus on the core business and generate improved profitability.


Cencosud arrived to Peru in December 2007 through the acquisition of GSW SA, operator of supermarkets and hypermarkets under the Wong and Metro brands and shopping centers in Peru. At September 2015 Cencosud operated 222 supermarkets and hypermarkets, 9 Department Stores and 4 Shopping Centers.
