Santiago, January 7th 2016. - Having noted the request from the National Economic Prosecutor (FNE) against three supermarket chains to the Antitrust Court (TDLC), Cencosud states the following:

  1. The Company emphatically denies having colluded with its competition, so it will vigorously defend itself to prove it's innocence. The company declares that there is no collusion.

  2. The request submitted by the FNE is surprising, since the entity itself, through an economic study presented in 2012, argued before the TDLC that supermarket chains and consumers were victims of the collusion case against the producers of chickens.

  3. For Cencosud, collusion is an unacceptable practice and deserves the highest condemnation. Since 2008 Cencosud has been implementing a comprehensive program for all of its executives that promotes best practices and free competition.

  4. The Company understands the instantaneous social condemnation that a situation of this nature can create. However, we will have the opportunity to demonstrate to the relevant authorities, that we have never tried to harm our customers.
