HOUSTON - May 2, 2012 - CenterPoint Energy's cycling team recently marked a significant milestone, surpassing $1 million in total funds raised for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.

With their fundraising efforts centered mainly around the annual MS 150 Houston to Austin ride, the members of Team CenterPoint Energy have contributed a total of $1,021,181 to the MS Society over the past 12 years.

"Our employees, family members and friends are passionate about helping the MS Society in its quest to fund research and support for the almost 55,000 Texans who live with multiple sclerosis," said Scott Prochazka, Electric Operations president. "The 150 riding members and 50 volunteers associated with our team are excited to continue our efforts and celebrate additional milestones with the MS Society as our relationship continues."
