ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwired - Jul 10, 2014) - CGI (NYSE:GIB)(TSX:GIB.A) and client ProRail, a Dutch railway network operator, received the SAP-Microsoft Unite Partner Connection Innovation Award on June 4, 2014, during the SAPPHIRE NOW Orlando 2014 conference.

CGI developed a mobile application in collaboration with ProRail that enables the company to manage maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) work in an easy, quick and affordable way. Users can upload their MRO information, including requests and work completed, providing ProRail with a transparent and real-time overview of MRO-related performance and costs.

The SaaS-based application is designed for use on the Windows 8 tablet. CGI is the first company worldwide using this type of application to automate user processes. The technology combines cloud technology from Microsoft and SAP as a back-office system onto a mobile platform.

Sake Algra, senior vice president for CGI in the Netherlands, noted: "We are extremely proud of winning this award. Our collaboration with ProRail has led to a truly innovative solution that is generating significant benefits for ProRail. We put in place a solid, mobile infrastructure that can be implemented by other companies that want to better manage field activities."

Henk Bothof, CIO, ProRail: "ProRail is honored that our collaboration with CGI led to winning the SAP-Microsoft Unite Partner Connection Innovation Award. We are pleased with the good relationship we have with CGI and their contribution to a safe and reliable railway in the Netherlands. We are confident that we will continue to develop other innovative solutions together from which Dutch residents will benefit."

ProRail and CGI have been working together since 2005. CGI is helping ProRail to operate a timely and safe railway based on its extensive expertise with traffic control systems.
