Sims to lead CGI's enterprise security policies, practices, and programs

MONTRÉAL, Jan. 11, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB) today announced the hiring of Stanley L. Sims as Chief Security Officer. Mr. Sims most recently served as the Director of the Defense Security Service, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency responsible for securing the defense technological base and overseeing the protection of classified information residing with the DoD's ecosystem of industry partners.

In his new role, Sims will lead CGI's security enterprise policies, practices, and programs across the full spectrum of physical and cybersecurity activity.

Mr. Sims was appointed the Director of the Defense Security Service by the U.S. Secretary of Defense in December 2010, a position he held until his retirement earlier this month. He also is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and a decorated combat veteran with more than 30 years of distinguished public service in a variety of intelligence, security, and operations roles.
