Since May this year our Victorian Sourcing Team have been working closely with MWT who are a leading training organisation who provide a range of adult learning courses.

Through our partnership we have been running weekly sessions in Certificate I in General Adult Education across the state to assist our applicants in becoming more job ready and aligned with the Chandler Macleod way. The course covers a range of key topics which include' Our company values, safety is our priority methodology, preparing them for job interviews and meeting our expectations in term of assignment expectations. They also undertake training on how to retain their position through good job performance, attendance, reliability and also personal budgeting i.e. having money for petrol to get to and from work.

The training is undertaken over 3 days in either our local offices or off-site. Following their 3 days of training they then undertake an interview/induction process with a Chandler Macleod consultant who skills matches them against our current or up coming vacancies. Even after the class room contact is completed the candidates continue to have mentor calls and final assignment submissions to complete over the coming weeks before they are successful in completing the course work component. The benefit for the candidates is they can obtain work while they continue with their final assignments due to the flexible nature the course provides while they get meaningful employment opportunities particularly in the industrial sector.

We have found through this program not only have we increased our database pool of quality candidates, we have also minimised our turnover rates at our clients sites by providing better education to our staff around our client expectations and what it takes to be a good employee.

Over the next fortnight we are expanding this into our Business Support space and look forward to the further developments in our partnership with MWT.
