Charles Taylor Managing Agency appoints Bev Sumner as Director of Operations

Lloyd's turnkey managing agent, Charles Taylor Managing Agency (CTMA) has appointed Bev Sumner as Director of Operations. Bev will focus on developing and further strengthening CTMA's operational capabilities in anticipation of it managing a second and subsequent Lloyd's syndicates.

Bev brings ten year's senior operations management experience to CTMA, gained at Lloyd's and Xchanging. She joins after a year's planned sabbatical, to take time out with her family. At Lloyd's, Bev was Head of Process and Change and established the Corporation's first Process Improvement team. She was previously Operations Director - UK Insurance at Xchanging and was responsible for commercial (re)insurance technical processing, accounting and settlement operations.

CTMA was appointed as managing agent of The Standard Syndicate 1884, which commenced underwriting in April 2015, in a simultaneous launch of a syndicate and turnkey managing agency. CTMA is actively seeking the management of a second syndicate and has been further strengthening its senior management team ahead of its next appointment. Bev's appointment follows the recruitment of Ajay Gupta from MS Amlin as Chief Underwriting Officer in May 2016.
